White-Glove Residential Moving in Portland, Oregon
Moving a home you’ve curated over years isn’t like moving a studio apartment. The art, the furniture, the pieces you’ve collected piece by piece — they need people who’ve been trained to handle them, not a crew hired off Craigslist on a Friday afternoon. That’s the problem we built PDX Premier Movers to solve.

Who this is for
We work best with clients who value care over price — which means our residential moves tend to fall into three groups:
- Homeowners in Portland’s established neighborhoods — Lake Oswego, West Linn, Dunthorpe, the West Hills, the Pearl — who’ve furnished their homes over decades and want those pieces treated as irreplaceable.
- Busy professionals who’d rather hand the whole move to a trustworthy team than spend weekends wrapping dishes.
- Families moving into high-value homes, where the stakes on day one — a scratched floor, a cracked mantel — are permanent.
If you’re price-shopping three moving companies for the cheapest hourly rate, we’re probably not the right fit. If you want your move to feel handled from start to finish, keep reading.
What “white-glove” actually means at PDX Premier
“White-glove” has become a marketing word. Here’s what it means when we use it.
Pre-move walkthrough, in your home
Before we quote, we walk your home in person — identifying the pieces that need extra care, mapping the logistics of both addresses, and building a written plan. No over-the-phone estimates. No surprises on move day.
Museum-quality wrapping
Upholstered furniture gets shrink-wrapped over quilted moving pads, not a thin blanket tossed on top. Wood surfaces get corner guards. Art, mirrors, and glass tabletops get custom cardboard crating on the truck. Fragile items get hand-wrapped in tissue and bubble before they’re boxed.
Disassembly and reassembly, done right
Bed frames, dining tables, large case goods — we disassemble with labeled hardware bagged to the piece, and reassemble in the new home the same day. No hardware lost. No “you’ll need a contractor to put this back together.”
Unpacking and placement
We don’t just deliver boxes and leave. Our unpacking service empties boxes into the spaces you want them, hauls the cardboard and packing paper out the same day, and leaves your kitchen, closets, and living spaces usable on night one.
Our concierge process
Every residential move follows a six-step process built around one idea: you should know exactly what’s happening at every stage.
- Walkthrough and written plan — at your home
- Transparent flat-fee quote — no hourly surprises
- Pre-move confirmation call — 48 hours ahead
- Move day — crew arrives in branded uniforms, floors covered first
- Delivery and reassembly — everything returned to working order
- Follow-through — we call 48 hours after delivery to close the loop
Where we serve
We’re Portland-based and focused. Most of our residential work happens in:
- Portland proper — Pearl District, West Hills, Alameda, Irvington, Laurelhurst, Sellwood
- Lake Oswego — Downtown LO, First Addition, Lake Grove, Dunthorpe
- West Linn — Robinwood, Sunset, Willamette
- Washington County — Beaverton, Tigard, Hillsboro
- Clackamas County — Oregon City, Happy Valley, Milwaukie
Out-of-area and interstate moves are quoted separately — see our long-distance moving page. If your new home isn’t ready yet, we also offer white-glove bridge storage in individual wooden vaults.
What clients say about their residential moves
★★★★★
“We moved from Beaverton to Lake Oswego and were blown away by how efficient, friendly, and professional the PDX Premier Movers team was. They arrived right on time, handled everything with care, and even helped us reassemble our furniture faster than expected.”

★★★★★
“This was the best moving experience I have ever had. The movers were careful, professional, and well-equipped. They wrapped and protected all of my heavy furniture, navigated stairs with no problems, and completed the move on time. I won’t use anyone else again.”

Frequently asked questions
Do you require an in-home walkthrough before you’ll quote?
For residential moves over a certain size threshold, yes — we won’t quote over the phone. In-home walkthroughs take about 30 minutes and let us build a realistic plan instead of a guess. The walkthrough is free, and so is the quote.
How do you handle art, antiques, and specialty items?
Art and mirrors get custom cardboard crating on the truck. Antiques get hand-wrapped in tissue and quilted pads, transported upright, and placed where directed. For higher-value collections — original paintings, sculptures, grand pianos, safes — we’ll arrange specialty sub-contractors when the piece warrants it, and we’ll tell you upfront.
Is your crew W-2 employees or contractors?
W-2. Every person who touches your belongings is a background-checked PDX Premier employee on payroll — not a contractor booked through an app. Continuity matters.
Can you move us on a short timeline?
Sometimes. Our schedule typically books 2–3 weeks out for full-service residential moves, but we reserve capacity for last-minute bookings when possible. Call us — don’t guess.
What happens if something gets damaged?
Our full-value insurance covers repair or replacement for anything damaged in our care. We also document your home’s condition at pickup with photos, so there’s never a disagreement later about what was already there.
What’s included in the flat-fee quote?
Labor, truck, fuel, mileage, standard packing materials, disassembly and reassembly, floor and doorway protection, and the unpacking service if selected. No hidden charges for stairs, elevators, long carries, or heavy items. What you see on the quote is what you pay.
Ready to talk about your move?
Every residential move at PDX Premier starts with an in-home walkthrough — no pressure, no obligation, and no quote built from guesswork.
