Premium Packing & Unpacking Services in Portland

Packing is the part of moving most people underestimate — and the part most likely to go wrong. The stoneware you packed at 11 p.m. in a bath towel. The mirror you crossed your fingers on. The box you couldn’t find until three weeks after move day. None of that happens when we pack for you.

Who this is for

We pack for three kinds of clients:

  • Clients who’ve booked us for the full move and want the packing handled too — either your whole home, or just the kitchen, china cabinet, art, and electronics.
  • DIY movers who need help with the hard parts — the parts where one mistake is permanent. Art, mirrors, antiques, stemware, instruments. You pack the books; we handle what matters.
  • Clients navigating life transitions — downsizing, estate settlements, divorces, relocations after loss. Our crew is practiced at packing with care and discretion while you focus on everything else.

What premium packing actually looks like

Same principle as our moves: “white-glove” isn’t a phrase, it’s a method. Here’s what you’re actually paying for.

Custom crating for art, mirrors, and glass

Framed art, large mirrors, glass tabletops, and television screens get custom cardboard crating — built to the piece, on the truck, with foam padding between the glass and the crate wall. Not wrapped in a blanket and hoped for.

Tissue, bubble, and padded cells for fragiles

China, stemware, serving pieces, collectibles — each piece hand-wrapped in acid-free tissue, cushioned with bubble, and packed into dish-pack boxes with padded dividers. What comes out the other end looks like what went in.

Specialty packing — pianos, antiques, wine, instruments

Uprights and baby grands get quilted pads, corner protection, and specialty dollies. Antiques move upright where possible, padded where not. Wine collections get temperature-conscious transport planning. We’ll tell you upfront what a piece needs and what it’s going to cost.

Organized, labeled, and manifested

Every box is labeled by room and contents, numbered, and logged on a manifest. You get a copy. When you’re looking for the blender three days later, you know which of the 47 boxes it’s in.

Unpacking and debris removal

If you want it: we unpack into the spaces you designate, break down and remove every box and every scrap of packing paper the same day. You wake up on day two in a usable home, not a cardboard warehouse.

Our packing process

Packing is simpler than a full move, but the steps still matter.

  1. Walkthrough — on-site or by photo/video, we size up what needs to be packed and how
  2. Supply plan — we bring the right boxes, paper, bubble, crating materials, and specialty containers
  3. Pack day — uniformed crew, floors covered, work done room by room on the plan you approved
  4. Labeling and manifest — every box labeled, numbered, and logged on a list you keep
  5. Hand-off — to our own moving crew if you booked the full move, to your movers if you hired us for packing only, or to storage if that’s where it’s headed

Frequently asked questions

Can I book packing without the move?

Yes. We pack for clients using their own DIY moving plan, renting their own truck, or coordinating with an interstate carrier. Packing-only pricing is separate from our move pricing.

How long does a full-home pack take?

Most 3-bedroom homes pack in 1–2 days with a 3–4 person crew. Larger homes or collections of specialty items may take 2–3 days. We’ll give you a day count in writing as part of your quote.

What if I’ve already started packing?

That’s fine. We can pack only what’s left, or we can repack items that need more protection (art, stemware, electronics). Tell us what you’ve done and we’ll scope around it.

How do you handle art, antiques, and specialty items?

Art and mirrors get custom cardboard crating. Antiques are hand-wrapped and padded. For higher-value collections — original paintings, sculpture, pianos, wine, safes — we’ll arrange specialty materials or sub-contractors when the piece warrants it, and we’ll quote the extra cost line-item so you know upfront.

What’s the difference between pack-and-move vs. pack-only?

Pack-and-move means our crew packs your home and executes the move with the same team — one point of accountability end to end. Pack-only means we pack and hand the boxes off to whoever’s moving you (you, another mover, a shipping carrier). Both are priced as flat fees based on what we see at the walkthrough.

Can you pack for long-distance or interstate shipping?

Yes. Interstate packing requires slightly different techniques — carrier-approved materials, inventory tags, specific labeling. We coordinate with your long-haul carrier’s requirements so the pack meets whatever their claims process demands.
